Doula Care
Knowledgeable Support
The virtual support of a caring doula during pregnancy, birth and beyond can ease stress and allows for the couple to fully enjoy this time even during this pandemic. As a non-medical person, a doula offers continuous presence as well as emotional support to women and their partners. I am knowledgeable about fetal positioning (trained in the spinning babies approach), in comfort measures and I have a deep understanding of a laboring woman’s ebb and flow and will guide the physically present partner to support the laboring woman. As a certified lactation counselor (CLC) I support new families after birth at their home and enable them to have their very best beginning. Doula services are offered to couples who attend either a 5-week class series or a private class.
Breastfeeding Support
Breastfeeding can be challenging at first. While breastfeeding is natural and normal, it is a skill that takes time, practice, and patience to learn and develop. Being prepared as much as possible beforehand can improve the likelihood of reaching your breastfeeding goals. Of course, difficulties can still arise. Having someone come to your home to observe and help you breastfeed can make all the difference in your breastfeeding journey. This service is offered to all families in the Flathead Valley, no class attendance required.
Healthy Mom - Healthy Baby
Spinning Babies
Spinning Babies is an approach to optimize the physical relationship between the bodies of the mother and baby for the easing of childbirth. Release tight ligaments or muscles which may pull or twist and it may relieve pelvic pain now or discomfort during birth. Spinning Babies is a new paradigm that takes clues from baby’s position and station for natural, physiological solutions. Parents in class and doula clients will profit greatly from using this amazing approach.
