What is Hypnobirthing?

HypnoBirthing® is a tried and proven method that guides and prepares a woman in giving birth in a peaceful and extraordinarily beautiful manner. It is a program a that considers the psychological, as well as the physical well-being of the mother, her birth partner and the newborn, independent of context, whether that be in the quiet of a home, a hospital, or a birth center.

The HypnoBirthing® program is built around an educational process that includes special breathing, relaxation, visualization, meditative practice, attention to nutrition and positive body toning. Most importantly it fosters an air of mutual respect for the birthing family, as well as the health-care provider in a traditional health-care system or an alternative setting.

Hypnobirthing
Through self-hypnosis you will be able to fully relax, learn to trust birth, let go of any fears or limiting thoughts and replace them with positive ones. In the absence of fear you allow your birthing muscles and your baby to work together in harmony, just as they were designed to do. With HypnoBirthing you will be completely aware and in control the entire time but profoundly relaxed.

As the most comprehensive birthing education program available, Mongan Method HypnoBirthing® offers parents to be opportunities to explore their choices and develop the decisions-making skills necessary to achieve their birthing visions.

Meet Katja Schalbetter

Katja is the owner and lead instructor of Mountain Baby HypnoBirthing. Her strong desire to support pregnant women and their families comes from her own experience as a mother of three. After a challenging birthing experience with her first child and pregnant again with a second, research led her to HypnoBirthing® and she knew instinctively that it was a great fit.

Her two HypnoBirths that followed were amazing and empowering, so that she feels compelled to share this great program with the families in Flathead Valley. Katja Schalbetter Kofal is a certified HypnoBirthing Practitioner, a trained doula and a certified Lactation Counselor (CLC).
